Hospital Services
International Medical Group is the largest
private provider of healthcare services within Uganda. We
therefore have a distinct advantage over similar healthcare
providers in the industry, as our facilities include an
extensive clinic network throughout Uganda, and are also
backed up by our own private hospital.
As medical service delivery within the
Ugandan market varies widely, having our own comprehensive
service provision gives us control of the quality of the
service that we offer.
For emergency cases, we not only have
ambulance rescue available to the patient, but an accident
and emergency department with 24 hour medical cover to receive
the patient. We also have well equipped operating theatres
and a high dependency unit for post-operative monitoring
and treatment.
It is our emphasis on building up our
own medical facilities that distinguishes us from other
similar HMOs who provide only clinic services and refer
to other hospitals for in-patient treatment.
IHK employs one hundred and ten full
time staff, including nurses, doctors, midwives, administrators,
reception staff, cooks, cleaners, ambulance drivers, and
paramedical workers.
We also have part time specialist
consultants who hold appointments at Mulago (the main government
teaching hospital). Since we are a small hospital with a
wide range of specialties we have a high nurse to patient
ratio - one nurse to three patients, in order to cope with
the diversity of cases that are admitted.
