World anti drug abuse day

26th June is a world wide recognized day for anti drug abuse, and this year all nations including Uganda recognized this day placing emphasis on drug abuse among the youths.

Because we believe that “knowledge is wealth”, and “prevention is better than cure”, International Air Ambulance recognized this day through reaching out to youths in schools around Kampala.

IAA run an anti drug abuse campaign in schools from the 10th of June to 13th July, reaching out to 5 different schools and among which were: Kitante Hill School, Kololo S.S, Lohana Academy, Kampala Parents school and Green hill academy.

The theme of the campaign was to “unveiling the truth abouts drugs”.

Our youth psychologists gave facts about the effects of drug abuse, and tips on how to quit for those who were already on drugs.

During this period, we reached 1670 youths, who we equipped with knowledge, attitudes and practices that will enable them to escape the emerging epidemics of drug abuse. We also encouraged the 1670 to be ambassadors of this cause, go out and spread the same information to their other peers at school, home and social groups.
