OVERVIEW

International Medical Group (IMG) aims to make a difference to healthcare in Uganda and the region. We feel that every individual working in IMG can contribute to this mission using their skills and abilities, commitment and, most of all, a passion for making a personal contribution to improving the level and quality of health services in Uganda.

THE IMG HUMAN RESOURCE MISSION

IMG believes that the human resource is the most vital resource we have – we recognize that without the people, it is virtually impossible to achieve our mission and goals.

The IMG HR function works in partnership with managers and their teams to promote effective HR management practices that engender a work environment of self-development, team work, professionalism, compassion and ethical work practices geared towards employee satisfaction and excellent service delivery.

WHY WORK WITH IMG?

IMG constitutes the fastest growing health management organization (International Air Ambulance) and health care provider in Uganda. Our services are supported by a network of clinics in Kampala and upcountry and a hospital committed to quality health service provision. We also aim to increase expertise through education and learning and the International Health Sciences University (IHSU) pursues this goal. Our ethos makes IMG a very dynamic, progressive and exciting place to work. Some of the reasons our staff love working for us are:

  • Our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
  • Our commitment to staff development through internal and external training
  • Our commitment to respect for each other and to our customers
  • Our emphasis on quality services and good customer care
  • Our commitment to give a chance to young people and develop them to achieve their full potential
  • Our dedication to ethical practice and business ethics
Perhaps one of the key reasons that has been highlighted is management's emphasis on skill building, giving a chance to young professionals to develop their skills and make a difference to the standards of healthcare. People who work here are expected to be enthusiastic, willing to learn and committed to their vocation. We hope you can share our values and mission to make a difference!

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME

IMG believes in sharing knowledge and continuous learning and welcomes people who are skilled in various medical and administrative disciplines to work within the organisation. Through our volunteer programme we have had and continue to enroll volunteers from Uganda and overseas.

In Uganda, we have several young volunteers whose help has been vital in maintaining our records and database; including general administrative duties and tasks. Volunteers from England, USA, Belgium and other countries have also contributed in the areas of nursing and midwifery, trauma and emergency care, among others. This has been (and can be) on a long term or short term basis. IMG will provide accommodation and a small living allowance, depending on the length of stay and specialty in which the volunteer is working.

In terms of sending our own people abroad or having volunteers come here, we are open to both avenues of developing our skills base, but on balance we prefer experts to come here, since they are then passing on their knowledge in the appropriate setting. It is a fact that personnel from developing countries may receive training in a first world country, which they are not able to put into practice in their own country since the conditions on the ground are different.

We currently seek clinical and management expertise in the following areas:

  • Intensive care
  • Traumatology
  • Midwifery
  • Nursing
Please contact us if you are interested in sharing knowledge in these areas
