Work Force Profile

IMF teams are mainly medical because they are focused on healthcare projects. All projects have Clinical Officers and Nurses, Counsellors. However because the projects are community based we have Social Workers who engage with communities and provide input on Social issues affecting the health of communities. These teams are complimented by the Community Voluntary Workers who serve as community immobilizers, peer educators and AIDS and TB treatment supporters.

The project teams are supported by the IMF management team, which is composed of Managers who have qualifications in public health and a finance manager. They are also supported by more senior clinical, nursing and other managers within the IMG structure. The medical/clinical teams consult with specialists, surgeons, physicians and others when faced with complex cases.

As explained previously IMF works closely with IMG to minimize project administrative overhead costs. This means that Executive and senior management (Including Nursing and Clinical directorate) input for IMF projects is from IMG, pharmacy and laboratory staff belong to IMG and serve IMF clients just as well as IT, Finance and Human Resource staff. Some projects such as Hope Physiotherapy, Hope Ward project, Hope Cancer project, RVZ Community HIV/AIDS project & KCCL Community HIV/AIDS project, Touch Namuwongo TB projects are implemented by IMG staff.

Some IMF projects are large and have to have dedicated project staff; these include Touch Namuwongo Project, Jinja Hands of Help Project, Yer Yotkom project and e-Quality Health project. However these teams are often very lean and supported by IMG departments.
